French Toast
The best French toast I've ever had. The challah bread is key.
* 1 large egg
* 3/4 cup of milk
* 2 tsp of vanilla
* 1/4 cup of flour
* 1/4 tsp of salt
* 2 tbsp of sugar
* 4-5 slices of challah bread (3/4 inch thick)
* 1 tbsp of unsalted butter for frying
1. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes. Beat the egg lightly in a shallow bowl, then whisk in the remaining
ingredients until smooth. Soak the bread about 40 seconds per side, and then allow the excess batter to drip off.
2. Swirl a tablespoon of butter into the hot skillet. Transfer the bread into the skillet, cook until golden brown (about 1 minute
45 seconds on the first side, 1 minute on the second side).
