Pisa & Florence
June 28, 2003

Today we headed into Italy, with our first stop being Pisa. We didn't have much time to spend there, which was fine, since the only sight I was interested in seeing was the leaning tower of Pisa.

Nearly every tourist takes a trick photo of themself holding up the tower, it's tough to resist. And just as I had heard, the tower is much smaller than you might think.

Next we moved on to Florence, a beautiful city full of art and architecture built with the money of the Medici family. One of the more famous pieces of art held here is Michaelangelo's Statue of David which looks pretty cool. They don't allow you to take photos but most people manage to snap one off when security isn't watching.

Later on in the evening we went to a pub called the Red Garter which was a lot of fun. They had some of the largest beer mugs I've ever seen, and after just one beer (1.5L) I was feeling pretty good.

I met a cool chick from Sydney and we hit it off. The next night we went to a nightclub called 'Space Electronic Disco'. With a name like that you know it has to be good.

The evening was filled with drunken debauchery and sin. Luckily I will be heading to the Vatican City in Rome tomorrow to repent.
